Sooo Close!

We're feeling pumped tonight! We had our first big interview with Alice today. Talked a lot about marriage, our childhoods, thoughts on adoption, and parenting. The meeting went great, and I only teared up once when talking about my mom. I'm missing her so much lately. As excited as we are about our plans, I know my mom would be over the moon with joy. I know she'd be calling all the time with crazy ideas for the baby. But it felt good to talk about her today. Jon and I have talked before about how we think all parents should have to go through the "adoption" process prior to taking their babies home from the hospital. It is really interesting to sit back and analyze how your parents raised and disciplined you. I am so thankful for my happy childhood.

Anyway, we turned in all of the paperwork and Alice was shocked! She couldn't believe we have everything done. Our home visit was moved up to next Tuesday. And then, we'll be in the books and waiting!!! Out of curiosity, I asked Alice about the couples who joined the agency in January. She said that only a couple have finished their home studies (yes, that's how fast we moved) and that the other two couples have just been waiting for a few weeks. But, all of the couples she started working with last summer have placements, or have been matched and are waiting for the births. There's no way to predict, but she also told us that we'll be very desirable because of our age, no kids, and stunning good looks. Just kidding.

I hate blogs without pictures. So I'll post the only picture I've taken this week. Our house--note the green grass. We're secretly competing with the neighbors for Rock Star Lawn!
