In my effort to accumulate as much leave time as possible, I volunteered to go camping with the sixth graders. This was a mighty feat for me, as I am certainly no Girl Scout. To be truthful, there are no tents, and there's a chef who makes all of the meals, but there are cabins, and the snack was fruit cockail from a can. So I consider that roughing it! This year I'm in fifth grade, so this was not my team. The kids were rather rotten! Loud, rude, disrespectful. Some of them turned around nicely. But others, I just couldn't believe! Attitude, attitude. Finally, I looked at one girl and said, "You are just delightful!" While I was away, I missed so much! Here's my list of Top Four (too tired for 5) Things Katie Missed While Camping With Bratty Sixth Graders:

1. Clay Aiken is Gay. This is news?
2. Susan Lucci AND Cloris Leachman are on Dancing with the Stars? My mother is rolling over as we speak.
3. McCain suspends his campaign? No comment.
4. Jay Wilson is back on the news (WISC now). Jon and I might shed tears of joy. We're very particular about our news/weather/sportscasters.

Finally, sending prayers tonight for my dear friend Deb, and her husband Tim. After a scary turn of events, their little boy, Tait, was born last week. He wasn't due until December and weighs a little over 2 pounds. Little Tait is lucky to have Tim and Deb as his parents. Grow, grow little boy!
