Another Flip of the Calendar . . .

December is here. My birthday month . . . why does time go faster as you get older?

Today I actually have something adoption-related to report! It is not the *Big* news, but just one step away . . .

We had an inservice at school today, and between breaks I quickly checked my email. There was a message from our social worker with "Portfolio" in the subject line. Cue the defibulator!

So, I took a breath and read the email. Turns out, someone picked our letter, and looked at our portfolio this morning. They really liked us, and had many nice things to say. In particular, they liked that I'm a teacher, our dogs, and that we have a somewhat wacky sense of humor (the picture of Jon and the sea lions was evidently a hit.) In the very end, the expectant parents are very religious and devout in their Methodist faith. So they selected a Methodist couple.

Jon and immediately talked, and both agreed that we're just tickled to have some activity. Maybe the next time (and hopefully that will be soon) we're looked at, it will be a match. We both needed to end the week on a high note, so this was fun to hear. For whatever reason, I have been praying like crazy the past week. Maybe this is a sign to keep it up. ;-)
