Spring is Here!

Ok, maybe not. But it was in the upper 40's this weekend, and word on the street is that we're headed above 50 on Tuesday. Fifty is only 20 degrees away from 70! I am going to start watching for my tulips soon. ;-)

I broke down and called our social worker this week. To my relief, she said that things were dead at the agency over the holidays and into the New Year. This is typical. But the good news is that things are really picking up now. Fingers crossed. I asked if we should change out our profile picture, and she said, "No, no, no, just a matter of time." A 'matter of time' must be adoption social workers' favorite line! Very helpful . . .

Lots of babies have arrived recently. I found this little crib toy while shopping for a gift (I swear . . .I was gift shopping!) He coordinates perfectly with our mobile and plays "Here Comes the Sun" and Jon enjoys playing (er, dancing to) it once a day.





The valance is up! It looks so much prettier in person. I'm really happy with how it came out. Yet again, I am reminded that I need to learn to sew.





Ellie got a haircut this weekend, and obviously doesn't like what they did with her ears. Or maybe she's just exhausted from her traumatic day at Spa Woof. Here's the pillow that coordinates with the valance.




With the purchase of a new mattress, we can safely say that the nest is ready! Of course, I did find this on Etsy the other day and might have to save my pennies. I'm not usually into things like this, but I got all choked up when I read it. (I'd get it in green--not this gross color.) Perhaps I have adoption hormones?
