Valentine's Day Chatter

I have to write this down because it is just too cute.

I have 6 kids pulled out for language arts--4 girls and 2 boys. They are all age-appropriate fifth graders (thank God) and have no interest at all in the opposite sex. My two boys, Connor and Brandon, are extremely sweet "country" boys who love snowboarding and riding their ATVs.

Today, at the end of class, I reminded them that there are only 4 days left til Valentine's Day. This sparked the following conversation:

Connor: Do we have to bring Valentines for the whole class?
Mrs. Kaull: No, just for your teacher.
Connor: Well, yeah, but no kids right?
Brandon (To Connor): Connor, I am just going to bring you a chocolate bar or something. No card.
Connor: Cool.

I love them.
