If Baby Comes Soon . . .
We'll have to find teeny tiny floaties for his arms. Here's our backyard right now! Rain, rain, go away! There's a house going up next door, and evidently that has affected our drainage! But hey, the grass is now green!
We had a good weekend, topped off by Nathan's first communion. He wasn't enthralled with the flavor of the host. No kidding . . . what a disappointment!
On the way home, we called "A" to see how she's doing. She is still feeling well, but they are starting to watch her more carefully. She is such a small girl (all belly) and I don't want to say this too loudly, but I'm guessing this little guy will be here in May. Perhaps even in the next 2-3 weeks. She's going in for weekly appointments now, and they'll be doing a non-stress test this week. A says that she'll work until the baby comes . . . being on her feet all day is hard at this stage.
One cute thing that came up in our conversation is that she asked about the clothes we've bought for baby. I told her that our friends and family have given us a bunch of hand-me-downs and assorted supplies. She was so happy to hear this! She also asked about how our family was feeling about the adoption. This really surprises us, as we wondered if we should tread lightly about our preparations and our family's enthusiasm. But it seems to give her comfort to hear that we're all getting ready--in our home and hearts. I tell you, she is one special girl.
So, baby time could be coming soon! Jon and I don't eat a lot of casseroles (read, never), but I think I should start making some things ahead of time and freezing. Isn't this what Kate (Jon & Kate + 8) does??
My mom would have been 59 years old tomorrow. If you knew her, don't be afraid to talk to her (out loud!) . . . I'm telling you, she's still around. :-)

That's great that she asked you about how your family has been and how you have been preparing for the baby's arrival. I can see why that would give her comfort. :)
I'm not a frozen dinner kind of person, either (and my DH is definitely not!) but I say go for it! Make up a few trays of lasagna or something... whatever makes things easier. :)
I'm really excited for you. Two or three weeks is just around the corner!
Thank you!!! Any news on your end? I hope a baby is headed your way this summer. A good time for we teachers!
I haven't done a thing about the frozen meals . . . maybe we'll just do a big Costco run!!
