Special Gift

Today I arrived home to this sitting on the front porch:

These flowers were sent from our wonderful birthmom, with a card thanking us for agreeing to parent little baby boy. How amazing is that? We have everything to thank her for, and yet she sends us flowers.

I've been thinking about giving her a care package for her hospital stay. I have a list started: socks, slippers, gum, water, a few snacks, magazines, journal . .. what else? We're a little limited in what we can give. The state allows $100 in gifts, so if we consider a meal, flowers after the birth, and another gift (I was thinking a necklace or picture frame engraved with the baby's name) we don't have a lot of room left for the care package. Holler at me if you have any good "hee, hee, whoo, whoo, push the baby out!" care package ideas.

We met my cousin Paula's baby, Tyler this weekend. He is going to be our kid's BFF. Isn't he yummy?

That is amazingly sweet of her, what a nice bit of spring!

I think Tyler is the busiest baby I've ever seen. It's going to be insane when he starts walking.

I love your idea of the necklace or frame. I think something personal would be nice.

That was really nice of her to send the flowers. :)
