Spring Cleaning & Nesting
Man, I am rocking on the to-do list. It is spring break, though someone should have informed Mother Nature. At least it is sunny.
Within the last 2 days, a house has popped up on the lot next door. By the way, it is a little alarming how fast a home (where humans will eventually live) can be built. But I digress. The point is that every morning at 6:45, the hammering and banging begins. No sleeping in this week . . .
But my other tasks are going well. Yesterday the dogs went to the vet, I found a great pediatrician, and I have been a cleaning machine. Seventh Generation Window Cleaner, where have you been all my life? I fear I'm a little too excited for Mr. Carpet Cleaner to come tomorrow morning. Do I live in Pleasantville?
The baby's room is truly done now, though I still need to wash and organize clothes. Today I read (cramming for my book club, as usual) in the room and couldn't get over how calming it is in there. (People keep telling me to take pictures because it will never again look so calm and orderly.) To tell you how baby-mushy my brain is becoming, I actually thought, "Hmm, if I had one of those Boppy things, it would be a great lap pillow for reading!" Then, I remembered that normal pillows are what most people use. Anyway, see the pictures of the shelves I stained over the weekend. Jon hooked up the video monitor--quite cool, though we can see the neighbor's baby sleeping. She is a cutie. ;-)
We're excited for Easter weekend. On Saturday, we'll meet Paula and Chad's new (well, he's 5 months old) baby for the first time. I can't wait to see this kid's personality! Then we'll have a visit from our birthmom! We plan to talk about openness and our hopes for visits in the future. At one time, we were really nervous about letting a birthmom into our lives. Now, I can't imagine not doing so. Every adoption situation is different, and we're very thankful for the one that has been bestowed on us.
And by the way, I made it through Dr. Phil for the first time ever today. I seriously considered opening a bottle of wine midway through. It was that bad.

I just happened upon your blog through random searches today. I pray blessings on your future adoption.
I love the your picture "you are my sunshine." I sing that song to my little girl almost every day. Do you mind posting on my site and telling me where you got it. It is so cool. Well, God bless!!
